Southern Photo Camera Repair is a wonderful spot in Miami. Janet, the receptionist, was so friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely eager to help right from the moment I arrived. It’s truly special to find a local camera shop that genuinely cares for your gear and treats every customer with respect. They offered me a very fair price for the repair, and the whole experience felt honest and professional. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who cares about their equipment and wants dependable service.
Fixed the broken ports on my Sony ZV-E1 and swapped the sensor on my canon power shot. Everything works like new. If you need a camera repair I highly recommend this pace.
My experience was exceptional! Very honest and professional there was nothing wrong with my camera all it needed was a battery. They could have charged me for work it did not need. I will highly recommend this repair shop to my friends.
This is one of very few third party repair centers for photographic equipment other than the manufacturers in south Florida. I can see the frustration with some of the negative reviews. Southern Photo has the skilled techs to repair equipment, but I believe the store should be managed better. They should not have the technicians performing customer service as well as repairing equipment. I have taken many cameras in the last 15 years to be cleaned and repaired. The front desk customer service just does not have the ability to answer questions and follow up correctly. The inexperienced front desk almost always have to ask the technician to approach the counter. I believe that this causes technicians to get frustrated and overwhelmed, especially if they are stopped in the middle of a repair. The owner is never around and he leaves all of the decisions to the main tech on staff.
I will still use their sevices, but I wish they would be more organized with keeping track of equipment and vetting staff who are responsible for handling equipment and answering questions correctly. Yes they have lost equipment in the past for me, and have replaced them accordingly, but better managing and organization can keep their business prospering for many more years, even after the old owner is no longer around. PLEASE get your shop and services organized and managed better. You deserve the benefit of the doubt because some of your 5 star reviewers like myself still trusts you, but it is still a little uncomfortable walking into the front door and praying that everything proceeds without a hitch. I do not care if the store looks outdated and ancient. I just care that they keep high standards with professionalism and consistency. Just my advice and they can keep the 5 stars I gave as a reminder. "cheers!"
