I had to take my camera somewhere to be repaired, and this was the closest place to me, even though it was 2 hours away from my home. I am SO GLAD that I brought my camera here. Aaron was extremely kind. He told me exactly what was wrong and what I needed to hear. He cleaned my lenses and camera and did a fantastic job. His shop was so cute. I had my camera ready within 2 days. It was affordable as well. He handled my camera with great care!

One of the oldest and next to last camera shops in the country, located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. The store is small but don’t let it fool you! The owner knows absolutely everything there is to know about every sort of camera ever created. Whether a Leica or old Nokia, he’s truly an expert. My ex still sends cameras here from Australia for the owner to fix.

I visited Camera Repair Service Inc for the first time in October 2024. I stopped in with the goals of having my grandfather’s film camera inspected and cleaned and buying a film camera for myself. There was a couple in front of me in line looking to purchase a low-cost point and shoot 35 mm camera and I got to watch Aaron, the owner, address their questions, find the perfect solution for them, show them how to use the camera, and cheerily send them on their way. Then, I checked my grandfather’s camera in for an inspection/diagnostic and spoke with Aaron for what felt like a long while, discussing which new (new to me, rather) camera would be best for my needs, selecting one, picking out accessories, and being trained in detail on how to operate my new camera. I’m so pleased with my Canon AE-1 Program purchase and I am now able to also utilize my freshly cleaned and inspected Nikon 5005, gifted to me years ago by my grandfather. Aaron is so knowledgeable and gracious. I can’t thank him enough for his time and attention to my questions. His prices for the diagnostic and for the new camera were more than fair.

I have been shooting digitally on DSLRs for over 14 years. I feel confident beginning to shoot on film because of Aaron. Now I can truly call myself a photographer! I will absolutely return in the future.

One of the most unique places in Pittsburgh, especially if your cameras are your thing. This little shop in the center of Market Square has the most unusual and rare items that I’ve only seen in books. Like spy books, war books and rare camera books. It’s been here since I was a kid and the place is known world wide as it’s one of the last few specialist shops which no longer exist due to the fact that people are just too lazy to appreciate the value and quality of cameras like the 1893 Lancaster Watch Camera, which has like 4 left world wide. I’ve seen it here! I’ve also seen book-disguise cameras, used during Soviet era spying. Aaron, the owner can literally fix anything, and he also makes quirky designs on drab old cameras like making them into designer artistic objects with Vuitton or Burberry binding, which is so cool! His tenant , a heavy weight boxer adds to the charm and is there to help if anyone decides to get an attitude lol

The owner Aaron was so helpful and accommodating. I don’t have enough words to describe how amazing he made my experience. Fair prices, quality inventory, and excellent customer service I truly cannot recommend it enough!!!

Made an emergency repair to my Sony a7iv mount system in a timely fashion for an upcoming gig. Very knowledgeable, helpful and engaging.

I got my camera back yesterday from Camera Repair Service Inc. I dropped it off Saturday, it was done on Wednesday and I picked it up Thursday morning. Aaron was polite and kept me updated on the progress of the repair. The repair was perfect and I'm glad I took my camera there to get it repaired. Thank you!

The owner, Aaron, was extremely rude and disrespectful for no particular reason. On top of that, everything he sells is ridiculously and unapologetically overpriced, and when you call him out on it, he'll act like a child and give you this pathetic attitude. It's pretty apparent that this guy only really cares about making money, as opposed to providing photographers with a genuine and honest service. It's surprising to me that a place like this can still be in business. The other reviews tell me his shop has been this way for years. There are plenty of other local photography/camera stores that will treat you and the art with respect. The store also reeked with the stench of weed. Save yourself the time, the money, and the decency and give your business to another camera shop.

I was SO amazed with Aaron’s experience, timeliness, and outstanding customer service. I purchased a SONY DSC-HX99 through a third party service, and was devastated when it would not turn on. I brought the camera into this shop and Aaron immediately assured me he could fix the problem. In no less than a week he had figured out the issue, ordered parts, and completed the repair. He was very courteous and kept me updated with every step of the process. So glad I found this place, highly recommend!

Boy, do I wish I read through these reviews before I took my camera here. During a wedding, I accidentally dropped my camera. The battery door broke, but aside from that, the camera was working fine. I called Camera Repair Service to ask if they could fix it. In the middle of me explaining what was wrong, Aaron cut me off and said, "just bring it in, we will fix it." I asked my partner to drop off the camera since he works close to Market Square. When he took it in, my partner showed him the piece that needed to be fixed, and Aaron said he would call me with an estimate. I got a call later that day saying it would be $40. I gave him my card information and he told me he would call me hopefully by Friday, Monday at the latest. I didn't receive a call, so on Tuesday I called to check in. I asked if the camera was ready for pick-up and Aaron get irritated and said no, I had to pay first. I said that I did pay, and he went on to explain that the $40 was a diagnostic fee, not payment to fix it. Then he told me to be patient and hung up on me. He was incredibly rude. There was no need for a "diagnostic" check because I showed him exactly what was broken. It was just the battery door -- no further inspection was necessary and I wasn't requesting any other work to be done on it. After this call with Aaron, I went and checked the reviews and saw so many people having the same experiences. My partner immediately went to pick up the camera stating we no longer wished for him to service it. When my partner inquired why we paid $40 for a diagnostic fee when we specially showed him the ONE part that was broken, he responded, "because you can't tell a technician how to do his job." He put the camera on the counter and walked away. I certainly will not be returning and I will advise all my other local photographer friends to steer clear, as well.

Essentially, I spent $40 to have someone tell me what was broken on my camera immediately after showing him what was broken on my camera.

I spotted a camera that I was interested in, told the employee that I had one that sadly stopped working, how I'd always wanted another, asked the price and said it was reasonable, even asked my fiancee who agreed that it was reasonably priced, then asked to check the camera out and was told, "We only get our cameras out if you're serious about buying." How much more serious could I have been?

If not for this poor salesmanship, you'd have made a sale. The only deterring factor was this interaction. I'm absolutely not committing to buying a used camera before I can hold it in my hands and check the quality for myself, and not allowing your customers this access is ridiculous.

I could not recommend this shop enough for anyone with a camera in need of a repair.

I brought Aaron my recently acquired vintage canon SLR, with no idea what was wrong with it. He got it in working order in just 2 days! Moreover, he took the time to explain all aspects of my film camera to me—a newbie—with such patience and care. My advice for anyone with a camera (especially film!) in need of servicing would be to visit Aaron and give his services a chance; he is incredibly skilled in this field which most others know nothing about. Ignore the negative reviews and make your own opinions, because his work speaks for itself and deserves more respect than other reviewers are allowing for.

Repairing cameras, especially old ones, and especially old film cameras is a really specialized and difficult skill to master. In many ways it is similar to watch repair and watch making. Aaron and his team have done for me everything from simple light seal replacements all the way up to full refurbishment. Most notably they were able to bring my Olympus XA back to life with some really challenging, finicky detailed internals work. Despite the cost of camera repair (which is often fairly expensive) it is invaluable to have this service available locally - and for them to offer such comprehensive services. The cost to repair and refurbish here is similar to what you’ll find online - and being able to come in to a local small business is great. The warranty offered on services is excellent as well. We have to remember a lot of the equipment being serviced is 30, 40, 50, or even 60+ years old. They know what they’re doing here. When doing anything with such old equipment it is critical to be patient because anything can go wrong - and I’m confident if it does Aaron and his team will be able to figure it out for me.

Let's just say that I wish I was making more social visits here than business calls.

My most recent visit was to get my 135mm lens repaired. I dropped it and managed to turn infinity focusing into about 30 fear.

Aaron quoted me a price shortly after over the phone and asked me if I was still in the vicinity because he was willing to make the repair in a couple hours for me.

I told him I could wait till the next day.

As always, the repairs were perfect. And the price was good too.

If I could add a sixth star, I'd do it faster than I can bust up. my stuff.

Horrible customer experience and service. I had several mini DV tapes that I wanted converted. The older gentleman who owns the shop was to first determine how much footage there were on the tapes then provide me with a quote. The next day we receive a call they were ready. No estimate. He converted the tapes and charged me $150. Come to to find out the footage was no where what he charged us. I called later to discuss the charges, he becomes irate, and doesn't want to discuss the charges, then proceeds to hang up the phone in my face. Don't ever do business here. He even talks down to you when you walk in his store. I will dispute these charges. Zero out of five stars.

My fiancé and I traveled all the way from New York Long Island which is 600+ miles away and we were not disappointed. All these other bad reviews are completely bogus. He is exceptionally knowledgeable on all the cameras and took his time to go through everything with me. His collection is amazing and the camera he sold us is in AMAZING condition looks like it’s never been used he even threw in extra stuff for me! 100% worth the drive and we will be doing it again soon!! Take it from someone who rarely leaves a review but took the time to tell you about this place !!❤️❤️

He was able to fix the light metering on my camera and got rid of the molding inside the camera. My best advice is to be very precise and patience with him. Also he needs to update his website because I wanted to use PayPal but apparently he doesn't. (Even though it's on the first page). He charged me with a $20 service fee.

I have used Camera Repair Services in the 2019 with fixing some older super 8 cameras and in those times times they were pretty prompt on response times, letting me know the situation of my cameras and the costs.

I emailed them in April of 2020 to make sure they were able to service a camera due to COVID-19 and they said they could so I mailed the camera. Once they received the camera it took them 5 business days to respond and when they did they said that they now have a $20 diagnostic fee to have their tech look at the camera which I was totally fine with. I paid the $20 fee and 7 days later they told me that they no longer service the parts to make the repair and asked for another $20 for shipping back to me. I understood and sent another $20 for shipping plus my return address in Florida (same return address that was on the package when I initially shipped it to them).

After 8 days of silence I followed up asking if my camera had been shipped which they replied "Yes, we did." and that was all. I asked if they could provide tracking information and they sent over a USPS tracking number that showed that it was shipped to Los Angeles, CA.

I contacted them again because the address they mailed the camera to an older address they had on file and not the address I provided them via email when sending the payment. I've called them and left a voicemail, I've emailed repeatedly and they are yet to respond to anything.

If you need some camera gear fixed, I would highly recommend that you skip this company and find someone that actually reads email and cares about their customers.

Can’t praise Aaron enough- always so so quick and knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to repairing my cameras from my cheap Minolta point and shoots all the way to my Leica digitals. Not sure why people would be unhappy with him- he’s very direct and many people may not appreciate that but there isn’t anyone else I’d trust my gear with. There’s a reason this guy gets businesses from all over the country to send him their equipment to repair. I’ve been going here since I found him last year and have purchased many cameras and had him repair and service many many more. I feel lucky to have him in my city!

Great experience and customer service. As a beginner photographer I was looking for an inexpensive tripod and ended up with a beautiful brass tripod from the 60's that was well-made, solidly built but not heavy for a lot less money than a new one with cheaper materials would be. A great buy! The gentleman made sure the tripod fit both my camera and spotting scope and showed me how everything worked. Decided to put my savings into a speedlight, and he made sure worked with my camera. Will go back again for my future camera needs.

Last summer my video camera began to have audio drop outs. I take it to this place assuming that they would fix it. Boy, was I dead wrong. I dropped it off in late August for head replacements for which I was charged $450. Two months later they finally call me telling me it was fixed. After getting it back I realize that the zoom did not work. They tell me to bring it back and they will fix the problem. After another month of waiting I get called back saying it was fixed. It was NOT. The zoom still did not work. Another month goes by, they call and tell me it was fixed. I go to pick it up and now the record button doesn't work. They claim that they would fix that. Another month later I finally get my camera back. Given the weather at the time I had FINALLY received my camera I did not get an opportunity to really use it outside in any real testing environment until just yesterday. To my complete and utter dismay the camera still has audio drop outs. This place is a complete joke of a business. How can you call yourself "Camera Repair Services" when you do not repair cameras? The people that run this place are obviously have no clue what they are doing. Fraudulent crooks just scamming people into giving them money. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAMERA HERE. DO NOT EXPERIENCE WHAT I HAVE.

Terrible experience two times. Aaron sold me 2 broken tripods and refused to give me a refund. He tried to sell me a 3rd that was also not properly working. Also went to him for a camera repair and it took him 3 times to fix the camera and charged me all 3 times. This guy is a scam artist and has no idea what he is doing or selling. Avoid if you can.

An absolute ripoff. I took two cameras in for trade valued around $125 total. The conversation was great. I received a lens that has a value of roughly $25-30 and the person in the store said they would repair a lens a brought in at no charge to complete the deal. Now all of a sudden they have my two cameras and want $65 to repair the lens. A bait and switch like no there I've even experienced. These people will smile in your face and steal your wallet when your back is turned. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! And to top it off the guy that made the deal is "too busy" to get on the phone and talk.

With my latest purchase, Camera Repair maintains their well earned reputation for bad customer service, high prices, and poor selection.

My new cell phone came with a hole for a wrist strap, but the strap itself was not supplied. I called Camera Repair to ask if they had wrists straps. Immediately after the woman picked up she asked me if she could put me on hold, and I said ok. According to my clock, it took eleven minutes for her to come back on the line. I asked if they had wrists straps and at first the woman said no, and then when I described what I looking for again she corrected herself to tell me that they did have them. She told me that the price for their straps was between $5 and $10, and I told her that I would come down to the shop to pick one up.

When I got to the store I introduced myself to the woman now she was now clear that the cost of a camera strap would be $10.70. This price was high, but I figured that compared to the cost of dropping my new cell phone it was worth it. An older guy, I guess the owner, came from behind a partition and took out a white camera strap from a front cabinet. I asked if they had black, and he didn’t answer. He then asked for my phone and took it in the back to attach the strap. From the back he yelled to the girl, “You can charge his card while I am putting this on.” She did and I signed for the $10.70.

The man from the back then yelled again to the girl to refund the charge because he couldn’t put the strap on my phone. I told both of them that I would buy the strap and would return it if I could not install it. The man told me that they do not offer refunds. I then asked if they could show me the strap, pointing out to them that at that moment I had paid for it. It took me about thirty seconds to put the strap on my phone and then I wondered why it was that a guy running a camera store didn’t know how to install a camera hand strap. I asked the woman if I had put the strap on correctly and she said I had. I told her that I was going to keep the strap and I left.

I did leave with something I could use which is why I am giving them two stars and not one, but Camera Repair should be your last choice in buying camera equipment here in Pittsburgh. Awful service, selection, and price, but at least their convenient!

My experience really wasn't bad at all. Everyone is complaining about the $40 up front, but Canon charges a lot more just to look at it. Also, that $40 comes off the final cost to service your equipment. I've had a broken shutter fixed here and also a dropped lens. The camera came back repaired and fine, and the lens actually took longer than expected but that was because a part wasn't coming in quickly so I'm not going to dock them for that. But overall, I was pleased with their service.

Outstanding - this is what I want in a service shop - NOT a bunch of chirpy dweebs, NOT a slick grinning salesforce, I am NOT there for a latte or to pass the time of day, I am NOT there for anything but qualified, professional, timely camera repair. And these guys are great. They were informative, up front, courteous. They were brisk not brusque and they got the job done, and I got my stuff back next day mail. Will return when (inevitably, not "if") I again need repairs.

The owner is multi-talented and gracious. He took properly adjusted my expensive watch and removed 6 links for a perfect fit. Highly recommend!

My camera ($1,000 digital SLR) worked perfectly, but it was in need of a general cleaning. So in support of local businesses I took it here and had them perform a standard sensor and lens cleaning. Now my camera only works intermittently. I took it back, but before they would even look at it they a) insisted that any problems couldn't possibly be their fault, and b) wanted to charge me $60 just to look at it and get an estimate for repair! What kind of service is that? I actually took 2 cameras in for cleaning and spent nearly $400 on their services. They obviously don't stand behind their products/services, and I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone.

Told the clerk I was learning about the hobby and wanted to know if I could look through his tripods so I could learn more about what I'm looking for. He said he didn't want to waste the time if I wasn't actively looking to buy.

i think this is my first time ever leaving a review, and i’m doing it because of how rude this shop was on the phone. i’m a professional photographer not from this area, and i called to see if they could help in a pinch. they interrupted me and essentially hung up on me before i could even tell them what my problem was.

I have a Topcon camera, which apparently is very rare to fix! I went to 3 different shops in my area and finally went to google to search who could repair my camera for me. CRS was the first result. I emailed and was able to get my camera shipped there, repaired, and returned to me in a couple of weeks! They gave me great service and my camera works beautifully, better than it did before honestly.

Contrary to reviews, I LOVE Camera Repair Service !! My husband got sand in our HD Camcorder on the beach in Cabo Mexico. The lens shutter got stuck and it sounded like the gears were grinding; ultimately it was out of commission. Once we got back to the Burgh, I brought my camcorder in to Camera Repair Service. This was the first time I have been to Camera Repair Service. I was greeted by a gentlemen named Aaron. Aaron explained his policy, which is, initially there is a $40 service fee for the Technician to diagnose and let you know how much repairs will be. I pondered for a moment and decided to proceed with the repair. I moved forward with getting my camera fixed for a few reasons, they have been in business for over 50 Years, there Technician is In House so they have Amazing Turnaround service, the guy who greeted me, Aaron, gave me a very welcoming feel and explained how things work at Camera Repair Service. I dropped my Camcorder off during lunch Tuesday morning, and got a call on my mobile Wednesday morning letting me know what is wrong internally with my camera and how much it would cost me to repair. (My Camcorder cost me over $500 retail + tax) My repair bill was $185.00 minus my service fee of $40.00, so $145.00 to proceed with my repair. I told the guy who called me to proceed with the repair. I got a call Thursday around 3:00 PM that the technician just finished reassembling my camera and I can pick it up whenever I want and also that I have a 3 Month Parts and Labor Warranty. I picked up the camera and just recorded my sons first birthday on it. Thank you so much Camera Repair Service

Be ready for the worst service in your life. Really!

I’ve never made any bad review but this needs to be told. It feels like the owner hates everything and everyone, so I asked to see a camera that was on shelf and he said that I’d need to buy before seeing! Really! And it wasn’t a rare or expensive one, was a cheap one.

I’m even laughing of how bad was the experience, again!

Walked in the store to just have my rewind knob put back in, they said they would need to look over for a day and give me an estimate to fix that. Where as i have had come across the same situation, where a technician would fix that problem in the spot. I was told i would be charged 15$ for the estimate and if i decide to fix the problem, it would go towards my bill. I agreed and got a call back a day later saying, its gonna cost a total of 115$ to fix all the problems that is in my camera. I have been shooting with this particular camera for over 3 years and hadnt had any problems, however when I requested them again to just put the rewind knob back on, they would not do so stating,” either we fix the whole camera or not at all. So i was basically leaded into the situation without any prior information of their all or nothing policy, when i walked in with a simple, “can you put my rewind back?” question. I wasted 15$ and 2days with this misleading shop and got my camera back with 0 repair.

Well i was upset because, i was not notified about how you guys are going to look over the whole camera, and provide me an estimate with all the repairs needed to the camera, when I wanted just the rewind knob put back together. Even thou their might be a few problems with the camera, i really do love and satisfied with how the camera works and how pictures come out; regardless of what the manufacturer intended, and wouldnt want to change it. However i would like to get my camera at an 100% functionality; that was not what i walked into the store for at the particular day. I do appreciate you guys leaving with a good note, maybe when i decide to fix all the problems in my camera one day, ill swing by again. Thanks

CRS does great work! Aaron has taken excellent care of my Pentax slr, Contax iia, and Kiev 4m rangefinder film cameras. I currently have a '36 Contax ii that I'll take in soon. Quality, guaranteed work, affordable, and a fast turnaround time. It's amazing to see the amount of accessories, lenses and camera bodies that are in stock. The prices are on par with most places I've seen, and it's a local shop. Aaron is very professional, offers great advice, and is highly skilled.

So I was in town shooting a huge job at the Convention Center in Pittsburgh for the week and the hotshoe on my camera starts acting up. Nikon D700 hot shoe is making the Speedlight fire at random and all kinds of crazy. So I call up Camera Repair Services Inc. on Market Street and was greeted by super nice people more than willing to help me. This repair shop was right around the corner from my hotel so I took a chance. So glad I did. They saved me!

Not only did they fix my camera with same day service but they had the parts on hand they needed to give me a quick turn around in an emergency. Way to go Pittsburgh and CRS (great city by the way)!

I was grateful they were there and able to do the excellent work in needed in a pinch. I even ended up getting a sweet little 50mm prime while I was there because they have tons of older lenses and camera bodies for sale. If you are into vintage gear you will love this place! Definitely give these people your business. They are locally owned and treated me extremely well. Loved them!!

Last time I went here was to clear the dust/sand from under the flip up screen on my uncles camera.

I thoroughly explained what I need it to the guy behind the counter and he said something along the lines of "yeah, we got it"

Meanwhile when I picked it up they just wiped the camera externally and said "we cleaned it". They charged me something outrages for just wiping the screen and when I got mad the actual owner pulled up from the back and started fussing around how they would not be able to clean an actual LCD.

Probably worst experience for the highest prices you could get. Highly recommend if you have money and time to waste.

I had a very good experience with Aaron and highly recommend the services of Camera Repair Service. I had a significant problem with my Canon EOS 5D and Aaron took care of that to my complete satisfaction. If I have any camera problems in the future I will be going straight to CRS.

when I dropped it off, the person tried to tell me that they were not responsible for anything that happened to the camera. I had then sign an addition to the contract that my camera was fully insured. the lady did so very reluctantly. Horrible service. Had sensor cleaned for $120. they never called to tell me it was finished. I had to be the proactive one. when I picked it up, the sensor looked exactly like it did when I dropped it off. they said that they cleaned it and sealed it in plastic. I corrected them that it was not sealed in plastic and was untouched. rude and arrogant on the phone. recommend that you go elsewhere for sensor cleaning. a waste of time an energy.

I have used this places "services" twice now. This alone was a mistake. The guy there is really only interested in having to talk to you if you say you gonna buy something as soon as you walk in the door. I bought a wide angle nikkor lens from the guy assuming he was knowledgeable on the lens. The lens was refurbished and it outed me about $500 so I was thinking that it was a good deal since most lens i was looking for were around were twice that. I come home to find that this lens was selling new for $200. He also said it was professionally refurbished and the 2nd best lens the nikkor wide angle series had. I go to someone an actual professional who then tells me the exact opposite who even points out how it didn't look refurbished at all nor done by a professional.

Called the day before going to this place to confirm they did repair and had a battery. Drove over an hour to get there then paid for parking to hear they want $40 to look at it and the battery is with the repairman that is not even there. Huge waste of time,effort, and money. Don't go here. Lucky there is another repair shop down the road only 7 mins by car. They have batteries and will test for battery before charging a fee.

We stopped in to say hello to drop off my Nikon for a Sensor Cleaning. Since it was early enough in the day, I was told that the technician could complete the work in a hour or so. After lunch, we came back to Camera Repair and I picked up my Nikon DSLR looking Brand New. David Edick the Manager, showed me a better lens for my Nikon and at a stellar price. So, I got a trade in value for my old lens and upgraded! Thanks for the turnkey service Camera Repair!!

I had a great experience here. Took in a camera and lens to get fixed and they were able to look at it, give a diagnosis, and make the repair in a matter of days. Very professional and knowledgeable from my perspective. Will definitely consider them for future repairs and for buying equipment.

Staff was patronizing and the prices are absurdly high. The fee just to get a repair quote is especially ridiculous. I hate to post something negative about a photography shop in Pittsburgh since there are so few, but this place needs to adapt or die. Premier Imaging is a much better choice for vintage photography equipment in the Pittsburgh area.

I cannot account for other people's experiences however mine was very positive. I found them online and purchased a camera from them. When I had a concern they went way out of their way to make it right and were polite and professional the entire time. I encourage people to do business with them.

I stopped in to drop off a pair of lenses for service and possibly purchase a couple of small screws that were missing in the baseplate of one of my cameras and was greeted by a young man at the counter. An older gentlemen who I assume is the owner/repairman barked from behind is desk that I would have to leave my camera for an estimate. I explained to him that I simply needed to buy a pair of small screws for the baseplate of the camera (they are an odd M2.3x4mm screw that you can't just find at a hardware store) and I didn't need service on the camera. He rudely told me that it was not possible on a Hasselblad and that I would have to leave it for service. I'm not sure if he possesses some sort of magical special Hasselblad screwdriver but given his attitude I told him I had no interest in having him repair my other lenses and left. I bought the screws online from another reputable Hasselblad repairman ($15 shipped) and installed them in about 10 seconds and then promptly shipped him my lenses for repair. I was a service manager for over 25 years, this is absolutely no way to run a service business. How he has managed to keep the doors open all these years is beyond me.

After seeing all of the reviews I see that mine will not be the exception, more like the rule. I stopped in to see about a watch pin for my young son's watch. I greeted the gentleman at the counter and said, "I see that you repair.." when he rudely cut me off and said, "It's $10.75!". I chucked a bit and told him that I only needed a pin for my son's watch and again he said, "It's 10.75!" I chuckled again and said, in a nice manner, "Whew that's quite a bit for such a small piece of metal." Thinking that he had possibly misunderstood my request and he gave me his best cold Norman Bates stare and said, "It is what it is, that's the cost ." And I shrugged and left.

The more that I thought about it, the more I realized how rude he actually was and decided to leave a review. I wish I'd read the reviews before *I* went to his establishment.

Do not recommend this place at all. Maybe the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. Zero communication, zero help at all. I asked serval times for diagnostic and they would reply with a single word. Asked multiple times for a tracking, they don’t seem to know how to use email. Pretty sure they would have never returned my camera didn’t keep asking about it. Highly disappointed. Save your money and time and go to someone who actually cares about what they are doing

I called Camera Repair Service Inc., said hello and asked who was speaking on the other side and he said "CAMERA REPAIR". I asked him again so what is your name? He responded "CAMERA REPAIR". I asked him is that your name? He responded by asking me what my name was. I gave him my name. Now I asked him for the 3rd time what his name was, and THIS JACKASS at this store DISCONNECTED the CALL. I tried to call the store again and he/they REFUSED to pick up the phone. What kind a store is this? Why are they so SECRETIVE when it comes to revealing who is on the other side of the call? I wonder why they employ someone with SUCH low self esteem, low self respect, and DISRESPECT for a prospective customer. Something is wrong at this store.

Let me start by saying how rude this individual is! I took a watch in for my boss to get a band replaced. He quoted me a price I paid and thought everything would be good. No!!! I get the band partially put together. The clasp was still not on. I asked him if he knew how to do it and why wasn't it completed he said it is... UMMM NOOO I can't wear the watch! He proceeds to tell me that to put the band on its an additional cost and he doesn't know the amount but I must pay before hand. How I ask he said he will take a look and let me know I am thinking well why don't you look and tell me... he just stares at me for about 2 minutes. At this point I am frustrated and confused I ask is he going to give me a price he says he doesn't have time and to drop it off and pay over the phone with a credit card! At this point I am over it I say okay I will take my business elsewhere. He says yeah go do that!!! All of this for my boss's watch.

BEWARE HE IS RUDE AND UNPERSONABLE!!!!

This place is ridiculous... I have a Nikon D750, a D70s and a little D3100 and ~5 NIKKOR lenses and a nice 70-200 f/2.8 Tameron - point being I am fairly invested in photography. I walked in the door w/ $1,000 cash in hand prepared to purchase a new or refurbished lense TODAY. I told them I was looking for something in focal range of 18-70 (+ or -) w/ f2.8 or 3.5. Rude guy offers up a fast refurbished lense w/ shorter focal for ~$1000... Told him thanks, but I'm looking for slightly longer range and I tried to ask a few inquisitive questions about other options he may offer for consideration... Completely blew me off at that point. Told me to make a decision and spend 3 times more for new lense elsewhere or buy that one.... Screw off...I'll take my cash & walk.

Great for repairs on film SLRs. Also, the store contains a good selection on film SLRs. However, it's the digital age. Buy a 35mm film if you want to learn or give as gift. BE WARNED: There are no returns here. The guy will flat out say no and use "it's store policy." Don't waste your money on overpriced 35mm SLRs here. Go for a roll of black and white film, or a look at old 35mm and medium formats. The workers are nice, but will rip you off.

Still incredibly rude and while his work, if he deems you worthy of his presence, might be good there are other camera repairmen in the city who will do just as good work and still be respectful unlike here.

I'd just like to warn anyone going in with good spirits you will walk out with them drained. I do hope none of you ever have to encounter the miserable man who works the counter. He is extremely short and will give zero helpful information what so ever. Great looking product in shop but sadly horrible service.

Over priced as f. I'm a photo gear collecter, repairman and photographer. Prices are just insanely high. For example, I'm selling my hasselblad carl zeiss 50mm t* for 300 dollars. Owner of the shop asks for 600. Mine is the higher model BTW. Leica iii for 400? You kidding that thing is 250 max. Don't waste your time there

Can't figure out how to use a certain feature on my camera and just happened to be downtown. Read the reviews and decided to walk down and see if their service is just as poor as everyone says. They're right. Wanted $40 just to look at it. No $$$$, no service.

Good experience, repairs made to my Canon 5D Mk3 & 24-70 f/2.8 were done in a reasonable amount of time and so far, both seem to be working fine.

I bought an Olympus XA from them yesterday and I couldn't be happier. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgable.

Definitely will go back.

By far my favorite place to stop by when in the city, the staff and I are very close now and I always find exactly what I want along with a great conversation. I don't understand how anyone could give this place a bad rating. Love Camera Repair Services!
